==Overview== Google RankBrain is a machine learning (AI) algorithm that Google uses to sort the search results. It also helps Google process and understand search queries. RankBrain is part of Google's Hummingbird search algorithm and it helps Google to understand the context and intent behind search queries, and to provide more relevant search results. ===History=== RankBrain was announced by Google on October 26, 2015. It had been in use since the early part of the year. At the time of the announcement, Google stated that RankBrain was the third most important factor in the ranking algorithm along with links and content. ===Function=== RankBrain uses artificial intelligence to embed vast amounts of written language into mathematical entities, called vectors, that the computer can understand. If RankBrain sees a word or phrase it isnβt familiar with, the machine can make a guess as to what words or phrases might have a similar meaning and filter the result accordingly, making it effective at handling never-before-seen search queries. ==Usage Types== ===For SEO=== Understanding and optimizing for RankBrain is critical for successful SEO. This involves: *'''Content Quality:''' Since RankBrain prioritizes relevant and useful content, it's important to create high-quality content that answers user's queries. *'''Keyword Research:''' Keywords should be used naturally within the content, as RankBrain can understand the context and the intent of the user's search. *'''User Experience:''' A website's user experience, such as its loading speed and mobile optimization, also affects its ranking on Google. ===For Digital Marketing=== RankBrain plays a significant role in digital marketing strategies: *'''Understanding User Intent:''' Marketers need to understand and cater to the intent behind users' search queries. *'''Content Marketing:''' RankBrain's emphasis on relevance and usefulness makes high-quality, relevant content crucial for successful content marketing. *'''Website Optimization:''' Marketers must ensure their websites are optimized for RankBrain, including mobile optimization and improving website speed.
