==Usage Types== ===Keyword Density in SEO=== In SEO, keyword density is a tool used to ensure that a keyword or phrase is sufficiently present in a page's content to be picked up by search engine algorithms, but not so much that it appears to be 'spamming' the keyword. SEO experts recommend a keyword density of between 1-2%. ===Over-Optimization and Keyword Stuffing=== Over-optimization, or 'keyword stuffing', refers to the practice of excessively using a keyword in an attempt to manipulate search rankings. This is generally viewed negatively by search engines and can lead to penalties. To avoid this, web content should be written naturally and for the reader first, not just for the search engines.
