==Overview== The Google Speed Update is an algorithm update by Google, designed to prioritize websites that load quickly on mobile devices in search engine rankings. The update was rolled out in July 2018 as part of Google's broader initiative to enhance user experience by encouraging webmasters to prioritize speed optimization. Google Speed Update is an essential part of Google's PageRank algorithm. This algorithm update specifically targets slow-loading web pages, consequently affecting their rankings on the mobile search engine results pages (SERPs). While page speed has been a ranking factor on desktop searches since 2010, the Speed Update marks the first time Google has made it a direct ranking factor on mobile.
