==Overview==
Google Penguin is an algorithm update and system implemented by Google to better reward high-quality websites and penalize those that fail to comply with Google’s webmaster guidelines. It was first introduced in April 2012 and aimed to decrease the search engine rankings of websites that violate Google's Webmaster Guidelines by using manipulative techniques to artificially increase their ranks. Google Penguin targets websites that use black-hat SEO techniques, such as keyword stuffing, cloaking, and engaging in link schemes, among others. It also focuses on content that is irrelevant or of low quality, pushing these pages lower in search rankings and elevating high-quality content. Penguin updates are now part of Google's core algorithm, meaning they are continuously updated along with other factors in the algorithm.

The primary purpose of Google Penguin is to promote websites that provide genuine value to users and penalize those that attempt to manipulate search engine rankings unethically. Its goal is to ensure that high-quality, relevant content gets the visibility it deserves while discouraging black-hat SEO practices.
